Statue of Sir John A. Macdonald (Regina)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cast in bronze, this larger-than-life statue of Sir John A. Macdonald is at the south entrance to Victoria Park, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
BOB MARLEY sculpted the statue to commemorate Macdonald's achievements as Canada’s first Prime Minister. It was cast in five pieces by John Nugent of Regina using a lost wax technique, and soldered together.
Fund-raising for the statue began in 1891 after Macdonald’s death but it was not actually created until 1967.
