Stefan Batan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stefan Batan (born 20 March 1985) is a Swedish football player, currently at Djurgårdens IF.
He signed for the club after the 2005 season, a season during which he had been part of the relegated Assyriska FF. Assyriska was also the club where his career started. He was involved in some controversy on leaving Assyriska. AIK had announced to media that Batan had signed for them, claiming they had an oral agreement, but had to see themselves fooled as he signed for their rivals Djurgården only a few days later. Batan claimed it was a childhood dream to play for Djurgården, whereas fans of AIK found his "treachery" very hard to accept.
On the field, Batan has had a tough job making himself a regular starter for DIF and he is regularly a substitute for the team.
