Stefan Ishizaki is a Swedish football player. His current club is Elfsborg, a Swedish team located in Borås.
His former clubs are Djurgårdens IF (youth), Rågsveds IF (youth) AIK (1999 - 2004), Genoa 1893 (2004) and Vålerenga (2004-2005). He is also capped, having played some games for the Swedish national team. Stefan's father is Japanese and mother is Swedish.
Stefan Ishizaki was signed after breaking in to the senior squad at lower league side Rågsveds IF as a 16 year-old, and was picked up by AIK from the southern suburbs club. After being coming on as a substitute and then taken off 20 minutes later, he started to make a claim for a first-team place in year 2000 and soon became a fan's favourite. Creative with good vision and always a danger at dead ball situations he established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the league.
After the club being relegated in 2004, Ishizaki left for Norway but didn't quite manage to secure a starting spot at Vålerenga and returned the year after, signing for IF Elfsborg. Although AIK was said to be interested in taking "Ishi" back he felt he needed to kick-start his carreer at the Borås-based club. In his first year he quickly became a key player for Magnus Haglund's side and was intrumental in their successfull title-winning bid.
