Stephen G. Emerson

Stephen G. Emerson, M.D, Ph.D., was appointed to serve as Haverford College's thirteenth president. He will take over the position from Thomas R. Tritton on July 1, 2007.
Emerson graduated from Haverford College in 1974 summa cum laude. He earned a MD/PhD in cell biology and immunology from Yale in 1980. He held the Francis C. Wood Professorship in Medicine, Pathology and Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania where he served as Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology and as Associate Director for Clinical/Translational Research of the Abramson Center.
