Stephen McNeil

Stephen McNeil is the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the riding of Annapolis in Nova Scotia. McNeil lost his first election, but ran again and is now serving his third term in the Nova Scotia Legislature.
He announced his leadership intentions for the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia on January 30, 2007. He received endorsements from Leo Glavine, MLA for Kings West, Harold "Junior" Theriault, MLA for Digby-Annapolis, Hon. Robert Thibault, PC, MP West Nova, Senator Jim Cowan, Don Downe, former MLA, Lunenburg West, and Dr. Jim Smith, former MLA, Dartmouth-East.
McNeil has a wife, Andrea, and two children, a daughter and a son. He is the 12th of 17 children. His mother bears the title of first female sheriff in Canada.
