Steven Kay is a model and real estate agent in Los Angeles who appeared in a number of adult publications and films. He is perhaps most well-known as the centerfold in the October 1998 issue of Playgirl magazine, but he also posed nude in Torso and Freshmen, which are gay porn magazines. He has appeared in a few gay porn films, including California Kings (1998), Hand of Fate (1998), and Back for More (1998) under the name Troy Ryder (or Troy Rider).
Kay is a significant figure in gay porn. When he elected to pursue a career in the adult industry, he was already highly successful as a real estate agent. In the late 1990s, he was among the crop of gay porn stars who were clearly not appearing in porn for the money. It was a choice on his part, and in this way his career could be seen as somewhat groundbreaking.
