Steven Romero

Steven Romero was a 2nd generation professional wrestler best known by the ring name Jay Youngblood.

Steven was the son of wrestler Ricky Romero. On September 1, 1985, Youngblood died while touring in the South Pacific. He may have ruptured his spleen in a match and had a series of heart attacks when rushed to the back, where he died.
He was the brother of wrestlers Chris and Mark Youngblood.

Romero started wrestling in 1979 under the name of Jay Youngblood to make a name for himself and not on his father's name. He wrestled in the NWA's Jim Crockett Promotions in a regular tag team with Ricky Steamboat and also wrestled in the Pacific Northwest territory. He went to Florida Championship Wrestling in 1985 and also wrestling in the American Wrestling Association that year.
Youngblood died while on a wrestling tour of the South Pacific on September 1, 1985.
In April of 2006 at local Amarillo indy-wrestling promotion West Texas Wrestling Legends (WTWL), Jay's nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III and the son of Ted DiBiase, Mike DiBiase teamed up as "Team 3G" (Team Third Generation Wrestlers). They won the first-ever WTWL Jay Youngblood Memorial Tag Team Cup Tournament at "The Legacy of Legends" show.
