The CIA factbook (see Talk:Pitcairn Islands) says there are (or were ca. 2003) 12 able-bodies men. If that's correct, then the seven accused men should be described as "half of the adult male able-bodied populaton". That's messy....
There are also six other accused not currently living on Pitcairn.
[edit] Jurisdiction
No mention seems to be made in the article that the Pitcairners claim they are not under British jurisdiction and that therefore they are not bound by British law. Whether or not this will be upheld is doubtful, but I feel the claim should be noted. -Kasreyn 23:44, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
