Stockland (company)

Stockland (ASX: SGP) is a diversified Australian property development company.
Founded in 1952 as a residential developer, it listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1957 and diversified into commercial developments in the 1960s.
Its current activities include:
- management of shopping centres, 38 mainly smaller centres in regional Australia,
- ownership and management of 36 office towers in Australian capital cities, the majority in Sydney.
- distribution centres, industrial and office parks, in five Australian capitals with its biggest holdings in Sydney.
- residential developments around Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
- several apartment developments across Australia
- a chain of apartment-style hotels in Australia's capital cities.
The company has assets of around $9 billion AUD and a market capitalization around $8.5 billion. The current managing director is Matthew Quinn, and the board chairman is Peter Daly. A notable board member is deputy chairman and former Premier of New South Wales Nick Greiner.
