Salāmān and Absāl is a Persian narration, first told in the ____ century by Ibn Sina. The literature is retold by many authors after that; namingly Ibn Tufail, Tusi, Hunayn ibn Ishaq, and Jāmī, usually in poetry form. The tellings alternate between stories of a forbidden romance between two lovers, a friendship between two brothers, or of a strife between a king and his son over a kingdom.
