[edit] Trivia
Wheeler is known to be one of the Conservative Party's largest donors, having donated in excess of £5 million to the party.
A keen gambler, he can boast to having played bridge with Lord Lucan just before the peer vanished, and with Omar Sharif. He recently also realised a dream by taking part in the World Poker Championships in Las Vegas.
Wheeler was shot in the mouth during target practice while doing his National Service in Egypt. He has mostly false teeth as a consequence.[citation needed]
