Studs (game show)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Studs was an American television game show which was produced by Fox Television Studios. It ran in syndication from 1991 to 1993, hosted by Mark DeCarlo. In general, the show follows a somewhat similar format to that of The Dating Game and Love Connection. In the first half of the program, an unmarried, single female contestant was offered a selection of numerous eligible bachelors who in turn would do just about anything to get her vote in the end. In the second half, interviews were conducted with a pair of contestants from a previously aired episode in which they would each at times explicitly depict their rendezvous. Although the show earned high ratings among young viewers and was fairly popular during the early 90s, the then-spouse of Fox studio head Rupert Murdoch was not a fan of the series and in fact protested her husband's decision to air the game show.[citation needed]
A notable contestant was Ronald Goldman, who was a contestant in 1992, two years before his infamous murder in 1994.
Jim Perry appeared in a cameo during a 1991 episode.
