"Style And Substance Abuse" is part one of a two part episode of Popular and was written by Ryan Murphy.
In Style And Substance Abuse, Brooke runs against Harrison for School Council President. She decides to drop out of the Homecoming Queen election to be in this election. Sam, Carmen, Nicole, and Mary Cherry are nominated for Homecoming Queen. Sam gets to caught up with the election. With Carmen homeless she helps Carmen by helping her with the election.
Nicole and Mary Cherry ask help from a former Kennedy High Homecoming Queen(Hellacious Arke) for help. Brooke catches Lily and Josh drinking cough syrup and runs her campaign on substance abuse. When a drug test is asked for every student Josh is nervous that he might get caught after drinking the syrup. He asks Harrison for his help to switch his urine with his, but shockingly Josh's resullts are positive.
