Subpoena is a Progressive Metal band with touches of thrash metal. They are from the city of Philadelphia. The band was originally formed in 2001 by Anthony Peracchia.

Subpoena was formed in 2001 by Anthony Peracchia. By 2003 they had a full band consisting of 5 members. Vinnie Kenny(vocals), Nolan Gallagher(bass), Anthony Peracchia(drummer), and Keith Wadsworth and Donovan Bolger on guitars. They released the first demo in January of 2005. It included songs such as "Faded" "Parasite" and "Bagglers". In early 2006, the band signed with Tone-Arm Records based in Austin,TX. On June 15, 2006, Subpoena released their debut EP Thrashimus Maximus after the band had a 3-2 vote in favour of "Thrashimus Maximus" instead of "Physics". The EP has 8 songs and 7 videos viewable when you insert the CD into your computer. The videos were recorded at the Trocadero Theatre. Nolan and Subpoena soon went their separate ways due to musical differences. Subpoena then held auditions for bassists to take his place. They then found Peter Nathaniel, who is from New Jersey. He played his first show a few days after joining the band, and managed to play very well. During the winter of 2006/2007 Subpoena went on a tour in 8 states. After coming back the band announced the release of a new album to be entitled If I Do I Die scheduled for release in the summer of 2007. The band has also announced that big news will be told soon. They will also be going back on tour in the summer. Subpoena have played with bands such as Venom, Goatwhore, To Outlive The Beginning, A Well Thought Tragedy, etc.
