Subtracter (electronics)

In electronics, a subtracter can be designed using the same approach as that of an adder. The binary subtraction process is summarized below. Again, in general, three bits are involved at each bit: minuend (Xi), and subtrahend (Yi), and a borrow in from the previous bit (less significant) order position (Bi). The output is the difference bit (Di) and borrow bit Bi + 1.
