Sumi Das

Sumi Das is the former co-host of TechTV's Fresh Gear. After leaving just before the merger of TechTV and G4, Das joined the cable news channel MSNBC as a reporter. While there, she reported from Modesto, California on the Scott Peterson trial.
She currently works for CNN as a national correspondent, based in Washington, D.C.. In September 2005, Das filed reports from parts of Mississippi ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, and provided custom live reports for local stations affiliated with CNN Newsource.
Sumi Das is of Indian Hindu heritage. Her family is from the Indian state of Assam. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.
She is married to Tim Ryan, an electrical engineer.
