Suresh Chandra Varshnei

Suresh Chandra Varshnei was the business owner of the first Sheet glass factory in India. Suresh was born on December 25, 1917 in Ambala (Haryana) where his father Ishwar das varshnei had set up a glass factory. Later the family shifted to Bahjoi (Moradabad) where Ishwar das varshnei started the first Sheet glass factory in India by the name and style of U.P. Glass works Ltd., Bahjoi.
Suresh Chandra Varshnei was educated in the Banaras Hindu University where he earned his engineering degree. He also travelled to many countries like Belgium, Italy, USA, Great Britain amonst others. He later on became the managing director of U.P.Glass works Ltd.,. He was also associated with various educational institutes and colleges. He passed away on December 20, 1999 and is survived by his three sons Ravish Chandra Varshnei, Dinesh Chandra Varshnei and Arun Kumar Varshnei.
