Surfware, Inc. is a leading developer of computer aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) software. Some of the applications for Surfware software include mechanical design, surface modeling, solid modeling, reverse engineering, prototyping, mold-making, pattern-making and production machining. The Company's flagship product, SURFCAM CAD/CAM Systems, supports product design and CNC programming of 2-axis, 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machines. Surfware is also known in the industry for its invention of TrueMill, a patent-pending technology that can speed rough machining in2-axis and 3-axis by as much as an order of magnitude. TrueMill was recognized as Technology of the Year 2005 by IndustryWeek magazine [1].
Surfware began as an outgrowth of the Diehl family machine shop, founded in 1950. As the machining industry advanced, the SURFCAM product line was developed. Today, Surfware Inc, is headquarted in Westlake Village, Los Angeles, California.
