SV-001
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The SV-001 is the main vehicle of the Metal Slug video game franchise. It is a small, silver or gunmetal grey tank. (SV is short for "Super Vehicle")
[edit] Specifications
The tank is armed with one cannon and twin vulcan cannons. the vehicle can jump and crouch. crouching opens a hatch on the top side of the tank through which grenades can be thrown. The grenades are independent of the cannon's ammo system. The vehicle can run over infantry and perform a suicide attack, with the driver jumping clear and the tank ramming into and exploding upon the target. the vehicle can take three direct hits before it is destroyed. the enemy chaser variant has a shield that must be destroyed before the vehicle can be destroyed. It is propelled by caterpillar treads. Over time, these specifications changed into any vehicle armed with a vulcan cannon and a cannon variant suited to the role of the vehicle, and propelled suitably for that vehicle's environment. In Metal Slug 6, Tarma can lock the vulcan cannons into one poition and fire continuously. The "slug gunner" is considered the eptomine of slug enolution.
[edit] Variants
- There is a more powerful gold version available.
- The Rebellion Army utilizes a huge SV with three blast cannons, a shovel out front, and a ballistic missile launcher. (MS, mission 4 and 5)
- The Rebellion uses a drilling rig much like the forklift.
- The Amadeus terrorist organization uses several variants, such as a rocket artillery with four dumbfire missile launchers (MS4 mission two), one equipped with a spiked shield and an enemy chaser, and a forklift variant that attacks with its fork, and the player fires their weapon out the back. it cannot crouch.(MS4 mission 5).
- The Ptolemaic army uses a walker called the "slug gunner" that can jump twice using a rocket pack, use a melee attack in the form of a large sword, and crouching turns the device into a lower, slightly faster tank.(MS5 mission 1 and 3).It is much like the Rebel Armor Suit in Metal Slug 3.
