Sydenham, Belfast

Sydenham is an electoral ward of East Belfast based on the area of the same name and containing the George Best Belfast City airport. The ward was created in 1973 being carved out of the former Victoria ward and has had only minor alterations since then. In common with many wards in the East of the city the percentage of Catholics was very low in the 2001 Census [[1]] at only 3.6% with only three ward registering a lower figure.
