Sydney Star Observer

The Sydney Star Observer is a gay and lesbian newspaper in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It contains local, national, and international coverage related to gay and lesbian matters. Non-specifically gay and lesbian items, such as music and film reviews, real estate, and classifieds, are also covered.
The newspaper is published weekly and distributed free-of-charge to gay and lesbian community outlets such as pubs, shops, and community centres. Subscriptions are also available. Distribution, although focused on Sydney, covers all of Australia. At time of writing distribution numbers are quoted by the newspaper at over 30,000 copies, the highest of any gay and lesbian newspaper in the country.
The newspaper first went to print in 1979 under the name The Sydney Star.
