Symmetrical Docking
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Symmetrical Docking is the name of a fictional combination system used in the Brave series of super robots.
[edit] Description
Symmetrical Docking is a system used by some mecha to combine with another. As the name suggests, each pair of mecha form one side of the new mecha and is a mirror image of their partner's formation. Several components would then attach or come out from the new mecha, like extra armaments, armor or most importantly, the new mecha's head.
For Symmetrical Docking to take place, it requires two mecha with an almost identical framework, save for some small details like color or design and weapon differences. As displayed in The King of Braves GaoGaiGar, the mechas requires a SympaRate of 100% or higher. SympaRate is a measure of the mecha's capacity to combine with another. Once the necessary SympaRate has been achieved, the mecha will be able to transform into their respective components of the new mecha and combine with the corresponding component. If more than two mechas have identical framework, more than one combination is possible provided those mechas are capable of Symmetrical Docking.
Symmetrical Docking was first introduced in the first Brave robot Brave Exkaiser, as displayed by the mecha Blue Raker and Green Raker to form Ultra Raker. It was then later used by HyoRyu, EnRyu, FuRyu, RaiRyu, AnRyu and KouRyu from The King of Braves GaoGaiGar.
