Cavity

A cavity can refer to a few different things. As a general term cavity means a hole.
It can also mean a hollow area within the body. Such as a sinus cavity.
Most commonly cavity is used in reference to dentistry. There it means a pitted area in a tooth caused by caries. The most common and painful rememdy for cavities of the tooth is for the dentist to drill the tooth and in some cases use a filling to make up for it.
