[edit] Bastides
Hello, Creol. The bastide article is mainly a translation of the French article. I think a cat History of France would certainly be a good cat to have. The problem with bastides however is that they are not limited to France. Andorra La Vella is the capital of Andorra. Some bastides (do not ask me which) are also in the Piemont region of Italy. Some (unconfirmed,Murten/Morat just looks like one) are in Switzerland (Still need to check Gruyères). Hence the cat History of France may not be totally adapted. --Eptalon 11:04, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Category Move
Hey, just realised I made a mistake in creating a new category, can you move Category:Military Honors to Category:Military honors thanks --NigelJ 21:11, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, completely forgot about droping case for the second word --NigelJ 21:28, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion
What article? Was the change made on April 1, 2007?Coffsneeze 21:12, 1 April 2007 (UTC) Does putting two deletion tags on one page also vandalism?Coffsneeze 21:20, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Simple Wiki
In reply to being an administrator, so you are one? So far, I've done 20 good edits, included important information and corrected many mistakes on simple wiki. I like it here. But can I apply just to be administrator here? So much mess on the big wiki. I love to keep things plain and simple. So once you become an administrator you have to edits how often, who can remove you? It's for life? I hope less edits here, less than 1000 can give me position? 1000 edits, wow, how many for big wiki?
- User: Creol is an administrator. Administrators can lose adminship if they harm the community. Numbers cannot define specific qualifications of being an administrator. Also, you should sign your posts with four tildes behind your words. Cannot find who posted the question. Coffsneeze 03:42, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bastides again
Hello, that category for the Bastides may not be as simple as it looks. The 'bastide' entry can be in History of France/Cities of France/Bulidings and structures (I created a cat:Bastides, which is exacltly that). The problem lies elsewhere. While most people see Montauban (50km north of Touluose) as a prototype for most bastides, and as a bastide itself, this is less the case for Aigues-Mortes (next to Nîmes), or Libourne (about 50km from Bordeaux). The problem is that those people will be looking for such cities (esp. Aigues-Mortes is rather touristy). They will perhaps look in the Cities in France cat - and not find it there. The other problem we face is that there are 'bastides' outside France, eg. Mortat/Murten in Switzerland, or Andorra-la-Vella in Andorra. For this reason, we should come up with a plan on how to plan those categories... You are the Category guy here, not me. I am of course open to any input. --Eptalon 20:13, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] To User Creol:
On the Wikipedia Glossary, it describes an edit war: "Two or more parties continually making their preferred changes to a page, and undoing the changes they don't agree with. Generally, an edit war is the result of an argument on a talk page that could not be resolved." Can an edit war be solved if the users or parties are blocked?Coffsneeze 02:29, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship
What happens if an administrator accidentally deletes his or her own user page? Or accidentally block his or her user page? 69.218.230.103 02:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Any page that gets deleted can be undeleted by any admin. Pages can not be blocked, only users can be blocked. If an admin were to accidentally block themself, they would not be able to edit pages until they unblocked themself. If another admin blocked them, they would need to contact that admin about having them unblock them as it may not have been an accident - there could have been a reason for the block. 02:58, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Note: 'they' is plural. 'admin' is singular, especially 'an admin'. — This unsigned comment was added by 69.218.230.103 (talk • contribs) .
- Two notes. 1. sign your posts. 2. They can be both singular and plural dependant on the target, see Singular they -- Creol(talk) 06:51, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Masque of the Red Death
Is an important page. Edgar Allan Poe wrote it. It's about a party and how people died of the red death.69.218.220.86 00:26, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Inappropriate user page
I know a user can be blocked for an inappropriate user name, but how about an inappropriate user page? User RottenJohnJohn currently has some content on his user page that probably could be deemed offensive. BrownE34 talk contribs
- Ask the user politely to quit posting offensive words. If that doesn't work, you may request for deletion.69.218.220.86 18:43, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion
Hello Creol. My action of deleting it was due to the fact of the presence of more "delete" votes. I understand that it has not passed the criteria, so I think it is best to restore them. Thank you and I convey my sincerest apologies for this mistake. :(-- Tdxiang 09:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] No more of these sockpuppets
I'm glad that you have stopped the Kate McAuliffe vandals (and sockpuppets) and the Essjay impersonators. I remember that the user creation log got clogged up with these socks before and now I haven't seen any for a long time. Great work. I even gave you a barnstar on your user page. Han Amos 23:41, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- Why did you get rid of the barnstar I gave you? Han Amos 10:23, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I do not like people editing my userpage. It is a touchy subject. -- Creol(talk) 10:27, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Then you should of protected it as soon as you started to dislike having people edit your userpage. It's already protected now. Should I just give you a barnstar on your talk page instead or what? I was just relieved that you got rid of the annoying sockpuppets on Simple English Wikipedia. Han Amos 12:19, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Bands by county?
I think you misspelled the category name. Shouldn't it be "Bands by country"? :-) · Tygartl1·talk· 14:15, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
