Imperial Cebu

"Imperial Cebu" refers to the "imperialistic" ambitions of the city of Cebu when it comes to the Philippines. Imperial Cebu defines itself as the main and only real political rival of Manila, which it calls "Imperial Manila" and which it seeks to topple. Cebu does not really care about the rest of the country that is heavily taxed by Manila. It only seeks to dominate the entire country, not even caring about other cities in the Philippines, not even Iloilo, Bacolod, Tagbilaran, Davao, Zamboanga, and Cagayan de Oro, who resent Cebu for its arrogance and imperialistic designs. Cebu claims it will "free" the country from Manileño oppression when, in truth, all it aims to do is do the same Manila has done for the past hundred years or so, if not worse, given the arrogance of Cebu.
The alternative is for Cebu to secede and force the rest of the Visayas to secede and form an independent country or empire. They are forgetting the fact that most Metromanileños are Visayans, and that thus the people Imperial Cebu hates are their own, and not the Tagalogs, who only dominate in the neighboring provinces and are more or less quiet and humble.
