Olga Bondarenko

Olga Bondarenko (maiden name Krentser) is a long-distance runner born 2 June 1960 in Slavgorod, Altai Krai, Russia. Running for the U.S.S.R., she won the 10,000 metre race at the 1988 Olympic Games, and the 3,000 metre race at the 1986 European Championships. Earlier she had set a world record for the 10,000 m event, at 31 minutes, 13.78 seconds, in Kiev in 1984. Her first world-class gold medal was a first place finish in the 5,000 m race at the 1986 Goodwill Games in Moscow.
