Hey, my name is Simon Beard and I am a student at Oxford University in the UK.
Read my Oxford Muse Self-Portrait for an introduction to me.
I am also on non simple English Wikipedia where I am Mayfly
I want to write simple English articles about philosophy, as I think it will help me to understand philosophical ideas if I can write about them in simple English.
Work so far:
- Philosophy: Cleared up, expanded and attempted to simplify this article and bring it up to speed with the English Wikipedia article
- Added category markers to all the philosophy and philosophers-pages that I could find and created works of philosophy and eastern philosophers categories.
- Written or worked on pages for Socrates, Rene Descartes, Mary Wollstonecraft, Metaphysics, Aesthetics, Confucius, Consciousness, The Republic, Voltaire and Feminism in line of the Wikipedia:List of articles all languages should have
- Written or worked on Beauty, Action, dualism, UNESCO, ethical tradition, Monk, Learning difficulties, Adam Smith, Karl Marx, Human rights, Inca, and Category:Football clubs either because it needed doing or just because I wanted to.
To do-list:
- Write Classical Greece, the Enlightenment, Epicurus and the French Revolution then History of philosophy and finaly, perhaps, concept, idea, and reason.
I should probably point out (in case you haven't already guessed) that I cannot spell well because I am dyslexic, so I'm sorry if I make a lot of spelling errors in my articles, please correct me!
