This image of Wilt Chamberlain is copyrighted. However, it is believed to fall under the fair use clause for following reasons:

It depicts one of the greatest NBA players of all time, Wilt Chamberlain. It is used purely for informational reasons in his Wikipedia article.
The Wilt Chamberlain Wikipedia article DOES contain a free image already, but it does not include a picture of the 100-point game, seen as one of the greatest games ever played. An image of this event would greatly enhance the Wikipedia article. [3] Moreover, the image of Wilt holding the paper with a scribbled "100" is one of the most famous image of one of the most famous NBA players of all time.
Wilt is dead; possibilities of creating new free images by meeting him are nil.
