Tamera Darvette Mowry (born July 6, 1978) is an American actress. She first gained fame for her role opposite her identical twin sister Tia Mowry in the sitcom Sister, Sister.

Mowry was born in Gelnhausen, Germany to Darlene Flowers,[1] who managed her children's careers and also worked as a security guard, and Timothy Mowry, who was in the armed services and later became a police officer in California.[2] Her mother is African American and her father is Italian American; the two met in high school in Miami and both joined the military as NCOs.[1][2][3] She is the older sister of Tavior and Tahj Mowry. Her family is "close-knit" and "deeply religious",[2] as the sisters became born-again Christians when they were eight.[4]
Tamera and Tia were members of the short-lived singing group The Voices in the early 1990's.

Tamera and her sister Tia starting entering pageants and talent shows while their family were living in Texas. At age 12, they convinced their mother to move to California with them so they could start an acting career. She agreed, on the fact that they have a acting job the first month. In 1990, their family moved to California permanently and Tamera and her sister started appearing in commercials and other small entertainment activities. She and Tia were members of the 90's singing group The Voices.
She is best known for playing Tamera Campbell, a twin separated at birth and met with her sister as a teenager in the show Sister, Sister. The show was developed for them after a producer spotted them on the set of Full House, a show on which their brother made regular appearances. Tamera also was on Full House in the episode "The Devil Made Me Do It" in which Michelle Tanner runs away to Teddy's, their brother , Tahj Mowry, house. Sister, Sister was initially on ABC but was cancelled by the network after two years and picked up by the WB Television Network,where it ran for another four years. During its run, they appeared on an episode of their brother Tahj Mowry's show Smart Guy. They also did voiceover work for the Kids' WB cartoon Detention.

After the show ended, both Mowry and her sister studied psychology at Pepperdine University. They both appeared in the movie The Hot Chick playing cheerleaders. Mowry played Dr. Kayla Thornton on the Lifetime Television show Strong Medicine from 2004 until February 2006, when the show went off the air. In 2005, they both starred in the Disney Channel film Twitches.
