Tamsweg

Tamsweg is a market town in the district of Lungau, in Land Salzburg. It is located in the driest basin in Austria, and has a population of 5,936 people.
First mentioned in a document dated 1160, it was incorperated during the 14th century.
The mayor of the town is Alois Lankmayer (ÖVP), vice-mayors are Klaus Repetschnigg (SPÖ) and Richard Rainer (ÖVP).
