Talk:Tana Umaga
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While the original addition arguably was a little POV, the fact remains that the incident involving O'Driscoll received wide attention and will be associated with Umaga. If I don't hear any good argument against it, I think the paragraph should go back in with one or two changes: "illegal spear tackle" should be changed to to "controversial tackle" with a factual description of what happened and the fact that the citing commisioner found that Umaga didn't have a case to answer should be included.
If points of view are being noted, it would be worth noting that many in New Zealand felt it was a gambit by media advisor Alistair Campbell to deflect attention from a poor performance by the Lions.
[edit] handbag incident at new zealand
Someone with proficient English (not me) should add the handbag incident in. If you weren't informed yet, last Sunday, Tana Umaga (who was drunk) used a women's handbag as a weapon against his Hurricanes team mate Chris Masoe because he had tried to attack him. Because of the whackings, the cellphone inside was damaged. The handbag and the broken cellphone is currently being auctioned on TradeMe, at a price of $45,000 at the time of this writing.
