Me
Born in and live in Blackpool. My interests on wikipedia are stupidly varied and include the following -
Some of those topic can be contoversial - Animal Rights and Tibet for instance. However, whilst I have relatively strong personal views on these topics, I am still fully aware that wikipedia needs to present a NPOV and I try to ensure that any edits I contribute are neutral. I also check for bias edits on all pages. And for vandalism of course.
Tangerines - the username comes from supporting Blackpool F.C. whose nicknames include The Tangerines and The Seasiders, all my life.
Wikipedia
I have not been on Wikpedia that long really. I started slowly, not really knowing what I was doing. But learning at the same time, so that I could edit and eventually start a page myself. I have now started four pages, Blackpool related not surprsingly.
- Blackpool Seagulls - defunct British Ice Hockey team.
- The Muckers Not because I am a hooligan or even condone hooliganism, but just so that information about it is correct, reasonably well written and verified and neutral.
- Yorkshire Seasiders - a BFC Supporters Group.
- Leyland & Chorley Seasiders - a BFC Supporters Group.
I have also done quite a bit of work on the Bispham page, and some work on other pages such as the Blackpool page, where I have added the early history (after making a mess of it the first time by simply copying out the text from Blackpool Tourism online Blackpool History. I ended up re-writing it more or less in my own words which it is now there.
