Tao chen kung fu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tao Chen Kung Fu is a modern martial art based on respect for others and our individual idiosyncrasies, emphasizing psychophysical development, self-defense and applied technique.
The name can be roughly translated as mastery (of oneself, in whatever activity) by way of Zen.
The style is primarily taught in France, although there are students all around the world.
The student is encouraged to understand the background to all martial arts, historically from India, to China, to Japan and the West, especially considering more recent developments in Latin America and the USA, for example kickboxing, JKD and wrestling.
An emphasis is placed on being effective in action, rather than discussing action, badges, belts and hierarchies.
To this end, technical competency and high physical fitness are encouraged, along with healthy lifestyle, good diet and the personal practice of meditation.
