Tape B
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tape B refers to stocks that are listed on the regional exchanges in the United States. These include the American Exchange (AMEX), the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the Boston Exchange, the Chicago Stock Exchange, and the National Stock Exchange (previously known as the Cincinnati Stock Exchange). When a stock is traded on an exchange, any of the electronic communication networks or any alternative trading venue, the transaction is recorded in the consolidated tape system. For regional-listed issues, this is referred to as Tape B. Tape B securities include many exchange-traded funds including the Standard & Poor's Depository Receipts.
