Tara Michelle Kemp (born May 13, 1970 in San Francisco, California) is an American pop and R&B singer. best known for releasing the single entitled, "Hold You Tight" in 1991. This single written by singer-songwriter Will Hammond Jr.,went gold and reached the number 3 spot on Billboard's Hot 100. It was followed with yet another Top 10 single entilted, "Take the Piece of My Heart," which reached number 7. Tara's quick success was soon eclipsed after her third single, "Too Much," stalled at number 95. Tara Kemp also recorded a song called "Action Speaks Louder Than Words," which was featured on the soundtrack for the Fox Television series, "Beverly Hills 90210."
