Hmm, we'll talk about the formal stuff later. But learning from my mistakes, take a look at this talk thread on the Frontier Airlines article. I learned about Wikipedia's resource usage on this. Also, note its important to be flexible and try to relinquish ownership of your edits. —Cliffb 04:32, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, really the point is that you need to let your edits into the world and let them live or die on their own. Thats kinda what I've done with the TRS article. Also one of the things I'm trying to communicate is that you should pick your "intensive" cooperation/negoation efforts wisely. To think that we've spent that much time arguing over a slash is a bit strange in my mind. We could have avoided this if people were willing to let their edits go.

So the lessons really are about thinking when it makes sense to revert someone else's edits back to yours, and if its worth it. Am I making any sense?

Also perhaps we should set up a subpage for these discussions, so we'll have the thread completely on one page? What do you think? —Cliffb 06:39, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Taric25. I'm seeking opinions and possible support for an issue in which I'm in a debate with other Wikipedians. I'm trying to change indiscrimant use of the term "deaf-mute" in describing deaf people in general. To see some comments related to the issue, see Talk:The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, as well as my own Talk page, User talk:Ward3001. You can also follow the links to other discussions. Right now I'm about the only person addressing the issue because deaf people are such a small minority. Other Wikipedians, with apparently no prior knowledge of the issue, are reverting my edits. MANY THANKS for your comments on Talk:The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter! Now, I'm again asking those who commented against using "deaf-mute" to once again help me out. There is a persistent user who has repeatedly reverted "deaf" to "deaf-mute", and has again reverted (and probably will do so again until this issue is mediated [in process] or arbitrated). So far only two of us have reverted it back to "deaf". If others could please put The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter on your watchlist and revert when necessary, I think it would have a much bigger impact. Just be careful not to violate the 3-revert-rule. As I'm writing this, the article is OK, but the persistent reverter probably will strike again. There are four instances in the article where "deaf" is being reverted to "deaf-mute". I would greatly appreciate others in addition to myself making the reverts back to "deaf". 24.0.97.119 ignored the mediation request (neither agreeing nor disagreeing), yet continues to revert "deaf" to "deaf-mute". Please continue to monitor The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. I've really lost my patience in dealing with this. A citation is just as unnecessary as an image for the article, and the Super Mario Cruft has got to stop, there. They're in the game, we know that. But it's not necessary to spend time and energy to give it so much more focus in the article. Please, just stop. Hi! You should study the category system a bit more before making changes such as the ones you have made to Category:User ase and its subcategories. The categories are a hierarcy, and it is thus unnecessary to list Category:User ase-2 in all of the categories you added to it. Read more about categories on Wikipedia:Categories.
