Tasti D-Lite
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tasti D-Lite is a New York-based company best known for its signature product, a frozen dessert marketed as a more healthful alternative to soft serve ice cream. The treat has attained widespread popularity since its 1987 creation, at least partly due to aggressive advertising claiming extremely low calorie and fat content. In recent years, though, published studies have found that the company may greatly exaggerate claims of its product's healthfulness, mirroring a famous episode of Seinfeld in which the main characters discover that their own local yogurt shop has misled consumers in its advertising.
