As you can see in this example, Joe Smith earns 8500. Since this is higher than the limit of FUTA for taxable wages, which is 7000, the FUTA tax calculated for Joe cannot be calculated against any more than the limit of 7000.
Is this trying to imply that the "extra" 1500 will be taxed according to normal income tax? In any case, it would be better to explain taxable wages using a "normal" example of a normally employed person. --Espoo 14:36, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
