"Temptation" is the thirty-eighth episode of the French animated television series Code Lyoko. It premiered in France on December 7, 2005 and in the United States on November 25, 2005.

After a XANA attack, Jeremie insists on a return trip, regardless of the fact that XANA didn't even cause any damage. When questioned, he gets defensive and angry, insisting that it's necessary. Further questioning on the matter leads to the same result. After the next return trip, Jeremie is found unconscious in his room. Upon decoding a video diary that is stored on his computer, they learn that he had been using the return trips to increase his own intelligence. When he's about to be taken to the hospital, XANA attacks, possessing the ambulence and driving it towards the river. Now the others have to save Jeremie and deactivate the Tower without Jeremie's help.

The episode starts out in the Forest Sector of Lyoko. Odd is on the Overboard with Aelita dodging three Hornets. Odd flies close to the various trees scattered throughout the region and then dodges at the last second to get the Hornets to destroy themselves by whacking themselves into a trunk. Aelita comments on Odd's somewhat insane method of destroying them, to which Odd replies by saying it's fun. After Odd destroys two, Yumi's metallic boomerang fan appears out of nowhere and removes the third. She comes up on her Overwing and Odd thanks her for the help. Ulrich is in Lyoko as well, riding his Overbike. Two more Hornets show up to stop him. A simple jump and katana attack dispatches them. Yet another Hornet shows up and takes out Odd's Overboard. Odd has Aelita run to the Tower while he provides cover. Four more Hornets show up to provide support. Odd manages to remove two of them. At the Tower, the Scyphozoa shows up to steal Aelita's memory. Yumi arrives to stop the monster before it can get close. Aelita enters the Tower and stops the XANA-attack. For some unexplained reason, Jeremie insists on a return trip. The others point out the fact that XANA never had a chance to do anything, and that there is no collateral damage to the Earth's infrastructure or cities. Jeremie activates the return trip anyway.
At the school, Aelita, Odd, Ulrich and Yumi discuss Jeremie's strange behaviour. Yumi figures that he might be having trouble with his family. Odd comes up with the less plausible explanation that he has a split personality. He then starts up a whole speech about how when the moon is full, he'll turn into the son of Dr. Shrink, capable of grafting animal body parts parts to humans in the same fashion as a character in a television show called "Hospital of Horror", named Dr. Shrink. Jeremie finally shows up and gets a drink from the vending machines. He won't explain his recent behaviour. The group then heads off to their classes.
In class, Mrs. Hertz is explaining a problem about triangles. During this, Jeremie gets a headache. A quick vision in his mind shows him in a white hallway that is being swallowed by by darkness. After the short vision, he asks to go to the Infirmary. Suzanne consents.
In the Cafeteria, Ulrich explains that Jeremie has skipped all his classes—including PE and History—since going to the Infirmary. Aelita decides to go talk to him.
In his room, Jeremie is working on the anti-virus for Aelita. He's still irritable and won't explain what's wrong. XANA activates a Tower and ends any further discussion.
In the Lunchroom, the others are informed of the attack. XANA chooses this moment to reveal that he's possessing Rosa Petitjean. She starts hurling plates at the group like frisbees, much to the surprise of all the other diners. Odd and Ulrich provide a distraction so Yumi can escape. Rosa doesn't notice Yumi's escape and continues chucking plates at the others.
At the Factory, Yumi arrives to join Aelita and Jeremie. He promptly sends the two to Lyoko's Mountain Sector.
Once there, Yumi and Aelita find themselves facing down eighteen Kankrelats. They take cover behind a boulder. Getting an idea, Yumi uses her telekinesis to pick up the boulder and chuck it at the group of Kankrelats. The massive projectile crushes seven of the attackers and provides enough of a distraction for the two Lyokons to reach the Tower.
Back at the Cafeteria, Rosa attempts to crush Odd and Ulrich with a serving cart. She misses and rams a wall.
Aelita deactivates the Tower as Rosa closes in on another pass with the desert cart. Another return trip wipes out any evidence of the encounter.
Back in time, Jeremie never shows up to meet the others. Concerned, they head to his room. They find him unconscious on the floor. The group immediately rushes him to the nurse's office. Aelita notices that his eyes are moving, which Yolande Perraudin attributes to dreaming. Visions indicate that it's the same dream as before. Ulrich and Yumi decide to search Jeremie's room for an explanation while Aelita and Odd head for the Factory to check the Supercomputer.
In Jeremie's dormitory, Ulrich and Yumi discover nothing of interest except the discovert that he currently wears briefs with picyures of kangaroos on them instead of boxers, (Although in Tip Top Shape it is shown that Jeremie wears brown boxers). However, Yumi finds a folder on Jeremie's computer that she can't access.
At the Factory, Aelita can find anything wrong with the Supercomputer or the return trip mechanism. A call from Yumi informs her of the protected folder on Jeremie's desktop computer. She comes back to check it out.
After decrypting it, Aelita finds a video diary contained within. The diary describes a device Jeremie constructed using Hopper's diary. it allows him to increase his intelligence with each return trip. Unfortunately, it has the unpleasant side effect of causing both physical and mental damage with each use. Yumi goes to make sure XANA doesn't attack Jeremie while the others head to the Factory.
Outside the school, Jeremie is loaded into a SAMU ambulance. Once he's inside XANA possesses it and takes of with the emergency vehicle. Yumi arrives in time to witness this and follows on her bike.
Yumi and the runaway ambulence leave campus. The possessed emergency vehicle careens through the city streets, frightening other motorists and pedestrians. After a short chase through town, Yumi eventually reaches the ambulance and prys open the doors. She tries to wake Jeremie.
At the Factory, Aelita sets up the Automated Scanner Process to send herself, Odd, and Ulrich to Lyoko. She couldn't send the Vehicles so the three are forced to head for the Tower on foot.
Jeremie is still having the same dream at the moment. The darkness in the hallway eventually covers everything, but Yumi's voice provides an avenue of escape. He wakes up as the ambulance turns towards a shipping canal. The two try to stop the ambulence, but the controls are unresponsive. The rogue vehicle plows through the safety barrier and sinks the two along with it.
Back on Lyoko's Ice Barrier Sector, Aelita, Odd, and Ulrich get close to the Tower. XANA sends five Tarantulas to stop them. Ulrich uses his katana to saw away the plot of ice the monsters are standing on. Odd follows suit, shooting at the ice with his laswr arrows. The ice falls apart and three of the Tarantulas fall into the digital void. This tactiv detroys three of the Tarantulas. The other two manage to hold their ground, but have trouble balancing on their balled feet. Despite this, one manages to take out Ulrich in a single shot.
On Earth, Ulrich gets a call from Yumi about the situation she and Jeremie are in. Ulrich assures them that Aelita and Odd are almost at the Tower.
Odd goes on the offensive and attacks one of the Tarantulas. He shoots it in the foot to make it lose its balance and then turns on the other as the first is destroyed. This last one puts up more of a fight. During the exchange, Aelita makes a bridge to the Tower via Creativity. She starts to cross it as the Tarantula takes out Odd. It tries to stop her, but fails as she slides past. Aelita enters the Tower as the airtight compartment Yumi and Jeremie made in the ambulence begins to crack. Aelita rises through the Tower levels as the compartment floods. She enters the Code: LYOKO and deactivates the Tower.
With the Tower now deactivated, Ulrich is in the dark as to how the return trip mechanism works. Yumi gives Jeremie the phone and he explains the process. The return trip activates before they drown.
Back in time for a third time, the others find Jeremie in his room destroying the device he made. He learns that all the progress he made while using it was flawed and therefore useless. The others are just happy that he's back to normal and not a grouchy, irritable, crusty meanie-poop. Odd compares his attitude to Dr. Shriek and then to Ulrich. Ulrich denies being grouchy which gets a good laugh out of the others. The episode ends on that.

- The final trip back in time seems unnecessary. Once the water would have filled the ambulance, the pressure outside and in would have equalized, meaning that Jeremie and Yumi could have just opened the door. Then they could swim up to the surface, which as shown, wasn't that far up. The water wasn't moving fast, either, so it would have been an easy swim. However, due to all the panic, they weren't really thinking straight.
