Terepai Richmond

Terepai Richmond is the current drummer of the Sydney-based Australian band The Whitlams. He formerly played in Australian jazz/funk outfit Directions in Groove (DIG). He is also the drummer for Sydney based reggae outfit 'King Tide', funk veterens 'Professor Groove and The Booty Affair', indi-rock band 'The Hate Game' and numerous others. He is a session musician, regarded as one of the best drummers in Australia and has worked freelance for a number of other bands including Tina Arena, Guy Sebastian and Hawksley Workman to name just a few.
Terepai is also a skilled surfer and was once titled "King of the Island" (Shark Island). He has featured in a number of surfing movies (Life Like Liquid, Billabong, 2006) and can often be caught surfing reefs like Voodoo and Shark Island in Cronulla. He was a team surfer for Mambo in the 1990's.
