Teror is a Canarian municipality in the northern portion of the island of Gran Canaria in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. September 8th is the local festivity celebrating Virgen del Pino (virgin of the pine).
Mineral water is an important product of Teror, other economic activity is based on agriculture and crafts.
The municipality is named after the town of Teror, where the celebrations of the Virgen del Pino take place. More important for tourists (and locals) than the above given date is September 7th with a splendid procession. The town of Teror is for the Grancanarios like "Lourdes" for France, only less frequented.
There´s a weekly market (mercadillo) on Saturdays, considered the best (most original) of Gran Canaria.
