State Highway 14, or SH 14, runs from I-45 in Richland to SH 6 south of Bremond in east central Texas.
SH 14 was one of the original twenty six state highways proposed in 1917, overlaid on top of the Dallas-Houston Highway. From 1917 the routing mostly followed present day I-45 from Dallas to Richland. From there, the highway turned west on present day SH 14 to its current terminus in Bremond.
In 1919, SH 14 was extended to Bryan via Franklin on FM 46, although this segment was removed by 1933.
In 1926, U.S. Route 75 was overlaid on the northern half of SH 14, leaving it to the current routing.
