State Highway 203 is a nearly forty-mile-long[1] (64 km) state highway in Texas. It runs through the Texas panhandle from Hedley to the Oklahoma state line.
[edit] Route description
SH 203 heads northeastward from Hedley. It meets the beginning of SH 273 after leaving that town. SH 203 then turns more easterly and passes through Quail. North of Wellington, it duplexes with US 83. It then ends at the Oklahoma state line, where it becomes OK 9.
[edit] Route history
When the highway was defined in 1939, it ran to Dodson from Wellington, and from there to the state line. On 26 September 1945, it was rerouted onto its current alignment, with the old highway becoming part of FM 338.[1] The highway has remained unchanged since then.
