[edit] What is Texxi?
Texxi is an example implementation of a Demand Responsive Transit Brokerage.
Texxi is intended to remove congestion and excessive CO2 production from major urban environments.
The basic idea behind a Demand Responsive Transit Broker is to act as an intermediary between those customers who want transit fulfilment and those service providers who can deliver those services (Taxis, Buses, Trains, Planes, Carpool Drivers).
This model is based on the Financial Services Industry where Exchanges allow a more liquid connection between buyers and sellers.
A DRT Brokerage can be a good way for a city to actually generate income from Transit Operations while providing an accountable and fair way for all involved to benefit from the most efficient match-up of supply and demand.
