Burial Ground: Nights of Terror (Le Notti del terrore) is an Italian zombie movie directed by Andrea Bianchi with cult status, primarily due to the casting of a middle aged dwarf as the child of an incestuous relationship.
[edit] Synopsis
A professor who is studying an ancient crypt near a cemetery accidentally opens evil from beyond the grave on a burial ground. The curse unleashes the dead to rise up from their grave to devour the living for their cannibalistic needs, lucky for the undead, their main course will be a group of socialites having a weekend in a large mansion.
Burial Ground is famous for Peter Bark's touching portrayal of young Michael, although Bark was in reality an adult dwarf. Bark turns in a heart-wrenching performance as a young lad that lusts after his mother, both before and after he becomes a zombie. this is a hard one to get hold of in the uk uncut. it was released on video in a heavily censored form, losing around 25 minutes of footage. the character of micheal actually feasts on his mothers breast in a very graphic sequence. although in the film nightmare city, a woman has her breast cut of with a knife. this is now available uncut. maybe `nights of terror` will be made available as well. though i doubt it as apart from the scenes of gore, the film had little else going for it.
