- The Hunger is the firstof Fear book to feature Deevee, since Army of Terror.
- Hoole, Tash and Zak, land on Dagobah where they meet a hungry clan. One of the unethical methods, the clan used to try to obtain food, was convincing someone to amputate a leg due to uncurable poison, when infact, the poison was very curable.
- Boba Fett is injured to the point of seeking help from Hoole, Tash and Zak. He takes off his mask but convinces everyone to look away first. Yoda also appears in the book and gives advice to the Force-sensitive Tash.
