Strange Magic: The Best of Electric Light Orchestra is a compilation album by the Electric Light Orchestra, released in 1995 only for the US market.
In an interesting move the compilation favours album cuts rather than single versions, tracks such as Rock 'n' Roll Is King, Shine A Little Love and Boy Blue are longer. The Compilation is sequenced chronologically and is based around US singles, hence not including UK singles like Wild West Hero (from 1977s Out of the Blue) but oddly enough Does include "Rockaria" which was a single in the UK only.
While catering for singles, the album could be perceived as weakened by its over-representation of 1977 onwards, while accurate to the number of singles it is considered by some critics and fans as poorer in quality to pre 1977 material.
