The Hoot is not really independent. It has to go before the F-Board to ask for money in order to print, while the Justice receives a set proportion of the student activity fee, making it completely independent.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.113.38.124 (talk • contribs) 06:32, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
So...a newspaper that receives secured funds from students is independent while another that receives non-secure funds is not? Independent on the Justice masthead means independent from the school administration (which both papers are). Neither is independent from the students as BOTH rely on funds from the students (just from different pots). Just because the Justice's funds are described as secure, doesn't make the paper independent. If the students held a vote and took away the Justice's funding, it wouldn't be able to print. Just like if the f-board cut enough of The Hoot's funding. Bottom line, the only accurate statement that can be made is that the Justice's funding is more secure than The Hoot's but that neither is independent of the students and both are independent of the administration.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.55.200.20 (talk • contribs) 17:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
WHY was the article about the Justice removed? It has been established since 1949 at Brandeis, which is the 31st most notable school, according to US News and World Report.
