[edit] Prequel?
This isn't really a prequel, is it? I haven't seen it, but from the previews, it seems to be taking place at the same time as the original Lion King. RickK 07:24, Aug 22, 2004 (UTC)
- As far as I know, the movie starts before the The Lion King has started, but it roughly tells the same story from a different perspective, so I agree that it's not a real prequel. --Conti|✉ 22:51, Aug 22, 2004 (UTC)
According to the film's own publicity, it's neither a prequel nor a sequel, it's an "inbetween-quel". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MrItty (talk • contribs) 13:13, 5 November 2004 (UTC).
I live in Britain, and have a straight-to-video film called "Timon and Pumbaa" which was released years ago, before Lion King 2. Yet, it seems to roughly or exactly the same film as Lion King 1.5. I'm not getting confused with the TV series "Timon and Pumbaa", though I'd always presumed that was spun off from the "Timon and Pumbaa" film. Was it re-named for its DVD release? Has anyone else seen it? boffy_b 16:48, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Song of the South
I deleted the part about Song of the South being "banned" purely because the statement is inaccurate. (Ibaranoff24 04:55, 6 January 2006 (UTC))
[edit] False tag?
Does this article really require the stub tag? Rlloyd3 03:17, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Doubt it. I'll go remove it. Blue Phoenix 13:53, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Relationship to Shakespeare's Hamlet
The Lion King is not entirely based on Hamlet; there are certain key plot elements from the Shakespeare that do not appear in the film, such as Gertrude marrying Claudius after King Hamlet dies. Skiasaurus 14:40, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
