Hey Yall, if you go to Amazon.com, and type in Pussycat Dolls, or PCD, you will find the album cover for their album coming out in September. I think you guys should put that up here, instead of the "Don't Cha" Single CD cover.

Hi. You guys might wanna check out this site. It contains some information about the group. Notice this: our article says the group was created in 1995, but this website states that it was created in 1993, but the first performance took place in 1995. Thanks to whoever had the layout cause the singles with the pics and album cover looks great!!
Someone needs to fix 'Sway.' That was their first song, it was already released in 2004. That needs to be put in front of 'Don't Cha.'

the pussycat dolls released a song and a video for a movie before the release of "Don't cha". I don't remember the name of the movie but it was with Jennifer Lopez, something about dancing... not very old...
Just tought it should be added to the singles area...

It doesn't matter what people 'consider' to be their first single, it matter what IS their first single and that would be "Sway", NOT "Don't Cha".
im glad somone else brought this up, im am fed up of people saying that dont cha was their debut single when sway was, its like how people consider crazy in love to be beyonces first single when it was work it out, its only because sway failed to chart in the u.s 'fans' of 'the dolls' are ashamed and want to forget/pretend that it was never released because they hate to admit that their first single was a flop and not a huge hit like dont cha was 81.1.112.20 23:24, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Criticism and Vocalists Sections
I removed the "Criticism" section, which consisted of a single line: The Pussycat Dolls' composer's songs have been continuously criticized for their sexual references, and some critics think that their songs have no meaning. That could be said about 90% of all pop artists. If anyone has anything of substance to add, please feel free to resurrect it.
Also, I find the tone of the "Vocalists" section to be a little odd. Only one member of the group is a regular singer; three of the girls have only sung on one track, a b-side. Given that the group is considered a singing act, this is clearly a significant detail, but this section seems to dismiss the critics as uninformed. It was just certified Gold in December I doubt it has sold 600,000 copies in a month and a half. Its only gold not platinum someone needs to change it and keep it like that.
On her PCD diary, Nicole Scherzinger confirmed that PCD went platinum.

It's my understanding (from Allmusic) that only Scherzinger is actually involved in the musical aspects of the group, with the rest of the members pretty much explicitly eye candy/dancers, with no musical involvement at all. I quote Allmusic: Open the booklet for their 2005 debut, PCD, and their artificiality is made clear: the first page reads "All lead and background vocals by Nicole Scherzinger. [edit] complete rewrite needed
As the original author of this article, way back when, I think we need a complete rewrite here. The Pussycat Dolls started as a burlesque dance troop and the original article reflected this. Now they are a pop singing group - the article has evolved to reflect this but the change was so substantial, I think the article would benefit from somebody starting it over from scratch. As an analogy, it would have been like if we had started a Wikipedia article on Ronald Reagan back when he was an actor and then continuously updated it through his subsequent political career - at some point, we should acknowledge we're essentially talking about a different subject than the one we started with. The cover version recorded by the Pussycat Dolls is a medley "Tainted Love/Where did our love go". The source of this cover is accurately attributed to Soft Cell, as their hit '80s version was a medley of the same two songs. The original individual songs are correctly attributed to Gloria Jones & The Supremes, respectively. A recent edit credited Diana Ross as the original source for "Tainted Love", and removed reference to Soft Cell. I will revert this edit. Design 01:06, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Does this article need some clarification about the PCD show in Las Vegas, as a separate entity to the touring group with Nicole Scherzinger? Are they two differnet things? Aren't most of the live guests, like Denise Richards, appearing in Vegas, not with the Scherzinger group? Design 09:30, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

On Nicole's wikipedia page it says that she is leaving the pussycat dolls after her contractual commitments to the PCD album are up. Is this true or just a rumor? Nicole is not leaving. But she IS releasing a solo album. I fixed her page because she has stated that she will be with them for the next album too. Also, Melody Thornton would probably take over, because she has the second most amount of solos and her voice is heard the second-most in all the songs.

On Melody Thornton's wiki page it says that she is a salaried employee of Interscope like the rest of the Pussycat Dolls. what exactly does this mean and how is this different to arrangements that other recording artists usually have with their label? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.49.194.48 (talk • contribs).
- A common arrangement is where the recording artist has a contract with the label for their recordings only. The artist would usually have their own management, publisher, lawyers, touring company, merchandise company, etc. quite separate from the label. This means the artist would have potentially more "artistic" control over their business, more "revenue streams" under their control, and focus on their own career. If they are a group, then the membership of the group would commonly be decided by the members themselves.
Since the Dolls are employees then nearly all of the above would be controlled by Interscope, including the ability to hire & fire. The label's focus would probably be on Interscope's profits (short term?) and could possibly conflict with the long term career of the Dolls members. The Spice Girls might make an interesting comparison: they were formed by a manager, whom they later fired, and they went on to control their own affairs, and spawn some solo success. So it's not necessarily all doom for the solo futures of the current Dolls. --Design 10:49, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

okay, in 2005 countdown it states that PCD sold 1.6 million copies, then in the first week of 2006 it says that PCD sold 268,000 copies but u dont add that to the end of year total because that 268,000 copies was already added to the total, so if u still dont understand, first week of 2006 is added to 2005 countdown, I know this because media traffic is updated every friday and the first week of 2006 was actually first shown in the last friday of 2005. if u want to add something to that please do.I always learn from my mistakes!thank u for ur time.

Pussycat Dolls is a Pop Group, however to suggest they are purely pop is also wrong. I agree with different points made by Candy Baby 1234 (talk • contribs) & musicpvm. Pussycat Dolls have very strong R&B/Hip Hop influences, however they also make Pop. Don't Cha has Pop, Hip Hop and R&B influences. Stickwitu is more prominently R&B but is still poppy. Beep is the same. Buttonz is has stronger R&B/Hip Hop[ influences so I believe that is the only song so far that isnt a Pop Song. Wait a Minute and I Dont Need A Man are very Pop-orientated, wheras How Many Times, How Many Lies has stronger R&B influences.
So to sum up, I think R&B, Hip Hop and Pop should be featured in the article.

Three users, me included, seem to be involved in an edit war. One user keeps changing the genre to R&B and Hip Hop, while the other user and I have reverted The Pussycat Dolls' genre back to Pop/R&B/Dance/Hip hop. Technically, their genre is pop, R&B, dance, and also hip hop. They're not just R&B and hip hop. I am willing, however, to go with a consensus on the genre. Acalamari 17:59, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

The article currently states:

Can someone cite a source for Linh Le? Or is this just a lingering piece of vandalism? Also needs some clarification as to who were friends "since high school"; since Antin was born in 1961 and Applegate in 1971 they were probably not students together. The second pussycat doll album has been confirmed to be either 'Double The Trouble' or 'Fired Up'. Main Vocals are said to come from Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts and the new member. Jessica Sutta, Carmit Bachar and Kimberley wyatt are said to have some solo spots but are more on the background vocal side even though Jessica sutta will have a much more prominent vocal role then Kimberley Wyatt and Carmit Bachar. The album is said to be released in september in the U.S and is said to be released in october in Europe and Australia.Rumors are that Ashley Roberts will take the most prominent vocal role as she has been claimed to be one of the best vocalists in the group as she has been compared to Mariyln Monroe and has been voted the second favourtie pussycat doll (in lead Nicole Scherzinger, third Melody Thornton). Also the new member ( rumored to be Melissa Smith) may also be taking the second most prominent vocal role followed by Nicole Scherzinger and then Melody Thornton. There second album is said to have cover versions of songs such as: 'Shame','Erotica' and a mash up of 'Fever/Big spender' (Lead is said to be Carmit and Melody Thornton). Nicole Scherzinger confirmed taht she has written 12 songs for the group and Melody Thornton also confirmed that she has written tracks for the next album. The Pussycat Dolls second album is said To be more RNB but with a twist of techno-pop and urban. There is a rumor that Christina will appear on two songs one with more then 1 pcd and one with Melody as Melody and christina has similar voices.
This album is said to hopefully become bigger then there first album, PCD as all the dolsl will have vocals.
